We connected with founders from brands that inspire us, to learn a bit about them and their brands - we imagine if you like Tofers, you'd like them too!

  • Getting it Down on Paper

The vision for Tofers was clear. Going from concept to design was an iterative process.

The next big step was finding a footwear designer for Tofers. Our advisor presented talented & vetted experts, and after interviewing a few we ultimately selected a UK based footwear consultancy led by a visionary designer with a passion for adapting products to our environment.

  • It Started with an Idea

Realizing that I needed to create the first Tofers smoking slipper was was more like a dimmer switch going from "off" to "on", as opposed to a true "switch flipping" light bulb moment.

The short version of the story is that I fell for the clean looks of a traditional smoking slipper, but was genuinely underwhelmed by what the products on the market could offer in terms of comfort, sustainability, and price. After one too many hopeless thoughts of "which shoe should I wear today" and knowing I was settling for sub par, I realized there was a solution in the perfect smoking slipper (if only it existed...).
  • Creating the Perfect Smoking Slipper

The original concept for the first smoking slipper was rather simple - a luxurious, versatile shoe at a non-luxury price while ensuring insane comfort and breathability with a laser focus on sustainability throughout... all in the name of looking sharp without feeling guilty about the impact my choices were having on the planet.  Bringing that vision to life was no walk in the park.
